Rampage continue winless streak in Canada

The San Antonio Rampage continued their losing streak and fell 5-1 loss against the Manitoba Moose in front of 4,890 fans at the MTS Centre Wednesday night.

The Rampage, who last won a game on November 29th against the Chicago Wolves, scored only one goal in their fight against the Moose.

The Moose started the game with more intensity. Nic Petan, took advantage of a power play by scoring the first goal for the Moose at the 4th minute of the first period. Chase De Leo and Brenden Kichton assisted on Petan’s second goal of the year.


The Rampage scored their first and only goal in the 19th minute of the first period with off a shot by Mikko Rantanen. After Rantanen’s goal, the Silver and Black just wasn’t able to keep up with the team out of Manitoba.

In the 2nd period, Manitoba recorded their second goal off Matt Halischuk’s stick at 2:34, assisted by John Albert and Patrice Cormier. Taking advantage of another power play, during the 3rd period Cormier scored a goal of his own with an assist from Matt Fraser and Jay Harrison at 9:56.

Manitoba scored yet another goal three minutes later with a shot from Scott Kosmachuk, assisted by Adam Lowry and Brenden Kichton, putting them ahead of the Rampage 4-1. Finally, Matt Fraser capped off the scoring and sealed the 5-1 win for Manitoba.

This is the sixth loss in a row for San Antonio and the loss moves them out of the top eight with a win percentage of .538. The Rampage will take on the Manitoba Moose again Thursday at 7 p.m., hoping for their first win since the end of last month.
