Rampage come up short in Milwaukee

The San Antonio Rampage fell 2-1 to the Milwaukee Admirals in front of 13,245 fans inside the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Saturday evening. The loss officially eliminated San Antonio from playoff contention.

Milwaukee got on the scoreboard late in the opening period. Max Reinhart got loose on a breakaway and slid the puck past Reto Berra to give the Admirals the one goal lead going into the second period.

The Admirals extended their lead to two goals when Jamie Devane tipped the puck past Berra at 9:24. Despite the good guys calling for the goal to be disallowed, San Antonio went into the final period with an 0-2 deficit.

San Antonio finally got on the board late with Borna Rendulic’s 14th goal of the season with 1:18 left in regulation. The Rampage would fall 2-1 and have their fifth game winning streak snapped.

The Rampage are now 29-34-8-0 on the season and will return to the ice on Wednesday when they return home to welcome the San Jose Barracuda to the AT&T Center at 7 p.m.
