The San Antonio Rampage have had trouble playing a full 60 minutes in the month of December. However, it was 42 seconds that cost them a win in Canada as the Silver and Black remained winless in the final month of the year.

The Rampage took an early lead, but suffered a 3-2 loss to the Manitoba Moose in front of 5,742 fans inside the MTS Centre on Thursday night.

San Antonio took advantage of a 5-on-3 power play chance midway through the first period when Mikko Rantanen let go a shot from the point, beating Manitoba goaltender Eric Comrie to give the Rampage the 1-0 lead. The tally would stand as the lone goal of the opening 20 minutes.

Nikita Zadorov extended the Rampage lead to 2-0 with another power play tally at 9:30 of the middle frame. Manitoba responded when Patrice Cormier’s shot deflected into the net, past Calvin Pickard to make it a one-goal game going into the final period.

Manitoba scored two goals in 42 seconds to seal the win as Ryan Olsen and John Albert as the Moose rallied for a 3-2 win and handed the Rampage their seventh straight loss.

Pickard stopped 23-of-26 shots and Comrie made 24 of 26 shots for the win. The Rampage finished 2-for-6 on the power play, while Manitoba was 2-for-5 on the man advantage.

The Rampage are now 11-10-6-0 (28 points) on the season and will return to the ice on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Iowa Wild at 3 p.m.
