CHICAGO – The San Antonio Rampage wrapped up their five-game road trip with a 2-1 win over the Chicago Wolves in front of 7,531 fans at Allstate Arena on Saturday evening.

The victory saw the Silver and Black complete the Illinois sweep of both Rockford and Chicago, taking all four points in their two weekend games. San Antonio finishes the trip with a 3-1-1 record and taking seven out of a possible ten points.

Chicago got the scoring started in the first period when Brandon Pirri put a backhand shot past San Antonio goaltender Spencer Martin at 11:21, putting the home side up a goal. The Rampage responded less than three minutes later when Adam Musil put home a rebound off Jordan Schmaltz’s shot at 14:04, tying the game 1-1 going into the second period.

Neither team found the back of the net in the middle stanza, but the ice was tilted in Chicago’s favor. The Wolves outshot the Rampage 11-4 in the period and 27-12 through the first two periods of play.

San Antonio scored the game winner just 1:15 into the third period when they took advantage of a Chicago turnover as David Warsofsky found Andrew Agozzino, who buried the puck into the net, sealing the 2-1 win for the Rampage.

Rampage goaltender Spencer Martin stopped 34 of 35 shots, earning the Second Star of the Night. Both teams went scoreless on three power play opportunities.

Three Stars:

  1. Andrew Agozzino, LW (SA): 1 goal
  2. Spencer Martin, G (SA): Saves: 34, Shots: 35, Time: 60:00
  3. Brandon Pirri, C (CHI): 1 goal

Up next: The Rampage are now 9-3-1-0 (19 points) on the season and will return to the ice on Tuesday morning when they welcome the Grand Rapids Griffins to the AT&T Center at 10:30 a.m. for the annual School Day Game.
