Highlights:
The San Antonio Rampage struggled to find their offense as they fell 5-1 to the San Diego Gulls in front of 9,585 fans inside the Valley View Casino Center on Friday night.
San Diego got on the scoreboard first when Ondrej Kase banged home a rebound past San Antonio goaltender Reto Berra and Chris Mueller added a power-play tally on a 5-on-3 chance to make it 2-0 in favor of the Gulls after 20 minutes.
Joey Hishon scored the lone goal of the night for San Antonio in the middle frame. His slap shot from the left face off circle found its way into the net to cut the deficit to one. However, San Diego answered back with a shot from Shea Theodore to make it 3-1 and Kyle MacKinnon added another tally to give San Diego the 4-1 lead after 20 minutes.
San Diego added another goal in the third period to seal their 5-1 win.
The Rampage were 0-for-3 on the power-play, while San Diego was 2-for-3 on the man advantage. Berra took the loss and stopped 33 of 38 shots and Anton Khudobin made 36 of 37 shots in the win.
The Rampage are now 23-25-8-0 (54 points, 0.487) on the season and will return to the ice tonight against the Bakersfield Condors at 9 p.m.
