The San Antonio Rampage closed out the home portion of their schedule with a 1-0 loss to their in-state rival Texas Stars in front of 10,643 fans at the AT&T Center on Friday night.

After two scoreless periods, Texas lit the lamp for the game winner in the final frame. Denis Gurianov beat Texas net minder Spencer Martin at the 7:32 mark of the period for the game-winning goal.

San Antonio would end up outshooting Texas 29-20 for the game, including 13-4 in the third period.

The Silver and Black will miss the postseason for the second straight season after going on a winless streak for 13 games from February-March.

“We’re disappointed we are not going to get to play playoff hockey,” Martin said. “Playing in front of those fans is a special thing. We enjoyed it again tonight, it was an awesome crowd. That is motivating to come back in the summer and come back next year.”

Martin slammed the door on 19-of-20 shots in the loss.

Three Stars of the game:
1) Gurianov (TEX – G: 1, A: 0)
2) Philippe Desrosiers (TEX – 29/29 saves)
3) Spencer Martin (SA – 19/20 saves)

The Rampage are now 26-42-5-2 (59 points) on the season and will return to the ice tomorrow night when they close out the 2016-17 season against the Stars inside the Cedar Park Center at 7:30 p.m.
