The San Antonio Rampage rarely go 60 minutes without a single goal, but it happened in Des Moines. Regulation was not enough as the Silver and Black needed extra time once again to squeak out another win.
Michael Houser stopped all 26 shots he faced as the Rampage (41-20-5-1) earned a 1-0 overtime win over the Iowa Wild (21-41-2-2) in front of 6,547 fans inside Wells Fargo Arena on Friday evening.
After three periods of scoreless hockey, the game would go into overtime for the third straight game. Brett Olsen finally lit the lamp for the Silver and Black 15 seconds into the extra frame as he beat Iowa netminder John Curry to seal the 1-0 win.
Curry stopped 32-of-33 shots as Houser’s shutout attempt earned him the third star of the game. Both teams finished the game 0-for-1 on the power play.
The Rampage will return to the ice tomorrow afternoon when they face the Wild for the final time this season at 12:30 p.m. inside the Wells Fargo Center.
