San Antonio Rampage head coach Dean Chynoweth has said he likes to have his team play at a fast pace. That pace saw his team leave West Michigan with two wins and five out of six points on the road.

The Rampage scored three goals in 1:46 span and goaltender Calvin Pickard stopped all 35 shots he faced en route to a 4-0 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins in front of 3,863 fans inside Van Andel Arena on Saturday night.

Once again special teams was kind for the Rampage, who opened the scoring for the third straight game. Dennis Everberg put home a power play goal off a Zach Redmond shot past Grand Rapids goaltender Tom McCollum at 5:18 to give the silver and black the 1-0 lead.

Less than a minute later Redmond got in on the scoring action and Andrew Agozzino put home a rebound to give the Rampage the 3-0 lead. Griffins head coach Todd Nelson would pull McCollum for back up goaltender Jared Coreau following the third San Antonio goal.

Both teams went scoreless through the second period and a good majority of the third. With Grand Rapids having an empty net, Everberg sealed the 4-0 win for the Rampage with his second goal of the night.

Pickard made 35 saves on the night, earning the First Star of the game. San Antonio finished 1-for-2 on the power play, while Grand Rapids went 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

McCollum stopped six of the nine shots he faced in seven minutes of work and Coreau stopped all 22 San Antonio shots in a relief effort.

The Rampage are now 2-0-1-0 (5 points) on the season and will return to the ice next Saturday when they host the Stockton Heat for their home opener at the newly renovated AT&T Center at 7 p.m.
