The San Antonio Rampage hit the road for the first time in the 2014-15 campaign with a 5-4 come from behind win over the Oklahoma City Barons last Saturday and the silver and black look to continue their winning ways when they face the Utica Comets tonight at 6 p.m.
San Antonio (3-1-0-0, 6 points) got goals from Shane O’Brien, Vincent Trocheck, Connor Brickley, Ryan Martindale and John McFarland in the win over Oklahoma city. Goaltender Michael Houser stopped 22 of 26 shots for his second win of the young season and out-shot the Barons 30-26.
Utica (3-1-1-0, 7 points) is coming off a 3-0 win over the Adirondack Flames. Former Rampage goaltender Jacob Markstrom stopped all 29 shots for his second straight shutout, while Brandon DeFazio and Nicklas Jensen both netted goals for Utica.
Against Utica: The Rampage fell 3-0 to the Comets last Friday, where Markstrom stopped all 28 San Antonio shots for the victory. Through three games, Markstrom has a .33 GAA, and a .988 save percentage and has not allowed a goal in 173:33 minutes of gameplay. The Rampage are 2-1-0-0 all-time against Utica and won their lone game inside Utica Memorial Auditorium last season.
