After helping the San Antonio Scorpions grab three of out six points last week, midfielder Rafael Castillo has been named the NASL Player of the Week.

Last Wednesday, Castillo scored on a penalty kick in the Scorpions 3-3 draw with the Carolina Railhawks. Then on Saturday, he scored both goals in San Antonio’s 2-0 win over Indy Eleven.

I’m very happy to be honored as the Player of the Week,” Castillo said through an interpreter. “I didn’t expect it, but I want to thank the team and God because without them this wouldn’t be possible. I’m glad that I was able to help the team earn a few good results because that is what is most important.
