The lone game on the Thursday slate in the WNBA happens this morning when the San Antonio Stars meet the Connecticut Sun at 11 a.m.
San Antonio enters the contest with an 0-1 record after falling 73-63 to the Atlanta Dream in overtime last Saturday. Kayla McBride scored a game-high 24 points in the loss, but rookie Moriah Jefferson struggled – scoring just four points on 2-of-10 shooting.
Connecticut also is 0-1 on the season after suffering a defeat at Chicago. Rookie Morgan Tuck also struggled going 1 of 6 for five points. Rachel Banham led the way for the Sun with 15 points.
Both Tuck and Jefferson, rookies out of UConn, will face each other for the first time since beginning their WNBA careers.
The Sun took both games in the season series last year.
The Stars and Sun will tip things off at 11 a.m. inside the AT&T Center. Follow @sastarshoops for live updates.
