Preview: Stars host Shock, look to continue home success

The San Antonio Stars will look to break out of their losing funk when they host the Tulsa Shock this evening at 7 p.m. at home.

San Antonio (3-11) enters losers of five of six games and three straight overall. They fell 84-68 to the New York Liberty on the road on Wednesday morning. Danielle Robinson scored a team-high 18 points as the Stars had just nine players in uniform. The silver and black have yet to win a road game this season.

Tulsa (10-5) comes in off an 83-80 loss to the Indiana Fever on Wednesday. The Shock were led by Riquna Williams’ season-high 31 points and seven rebounds.

Both teams are dealing with injuries, but it appears San Antonio is getting the worst of it. The Stars will be without Kayla McBride (foot), Jia Perkins (calf) and Alex Montgomery (knee) for the fifth consecutive game. Tulsa’s Skylar Diggins is out the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Overall, San Antonio is 0-2 against Tulsa this season, while splitting the four meetings in 2014.

The Stars and Shock will hit the court tonight at 7 p.m. and Stephen Anderson will have a recap. Follow @andersonstevem and @sastarshoops on Twitter for live updates from Freeman Coliseum.
