Sophia Young-Malcolm will retire at the end of the 2015 season and she will play her final home game on Saturday night when the San Antonio Stars welcome the Phoenix Mercury to Freeman Coliseum.
San Antonio (7-24) fell 73-72 to the Connecticut Sun last night. Kayla McBride finished with 17 points, but missed a potential game-winning three pointer. Kelsey Bone hit the game winning lay in for the Sun with 1.8 seconds.
Phoenix (18-13) is coming off a 73-53 win over the Washington Mystics earlier in the week. Candice Dupree finished with 18 points and Brittney Griner added 16 for the Mercury in the win.
The Mercury have the 2-1 season series edge, but Young-Malcolm had 21 points in the Stars lone win over Phoenix back in June.
The Stars and Mercury will tip things off at 7 p.m. and Stephen Anderson will have a recap. Follow @sastarshoops and @andersonstevem for live updates.
