Preview: Scorpions face Fort Lauderdale in must win

The San Antonio Scorpions are facing a must win situation when they host the Fort Lauderdale Strikers this evening at Toyota Field.

Fort Lauderdale is coming off back-to-back losses against Ottawa and Minnesota, but still sit three points out of the fourth and final playoff berth with 31 points.

San Antonio rallied to earn a 3-3 draw last weekend with the Atlanta Silverbacks. Nana Attakora and Marvin Chavez both had goals in the draw as the Scorpions earned a point to move to 26 points, eight points behind the final playoff berth in the NASL standings.

With six games remaining and 18 points for grabs, every game is important for the defending champions to make their final playoff push.

Both the Scorpions and Strikers have scored a combined 21 goals in their past five games. San Antonio is 5-5-3 all-time against Fort Lauderdale with their previous meeting ending in a 1-1 draw.

The Scorpions and Strikers will kick things off at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Field and Stephen Anderson will have a recap. Follow @ImSteveAnderson and @RedBlack_90 for live updates from the stadium.
