San Antonio FC will take the pitch for the very first time at Toyota Field this evening when they face the Swope Park Rangers in their inaugural home match. A Standing room only crowd is expected for the first ever game at Toyota Field for SAFC.
SAFC comes into Saturday’s match off a 3-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC 2 in their first ever game as a franchise. Jason Johnson scored two goals in the opening ten minutes to give San Antonio the commanding lead. Goalkeeper Josh Ford made five saves in his first start.
Swope Park enters the match after picking up two wins over Portland Timbers 2 and Tulsa Roughnecks FC, respectively. The Rangers are the affiliate of Sporting Kansas City (MLS) and have three goals on a season-high 25 shots this season.
This marks the first of three meetings against Swope Park this season and their only visit to the Alamo City.
