San Antonio FC (5-4-5, 20 points) will hit the road this weekend to do battle with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (7-8-2, 23 points) in another big matchup that will affect the Western Conference table.
With Aaron Marvel on vacation, we are delivering a more standard preview this week. We’ll prepare you with our look at the match plus give our prediction.
Last time out:
San Antonio FC fell 0-2 to Reno 1868 FC last Saturday night at Toyota Field. SAFC appeared of out sync on both ends of the ball as Reno scored twice to take all three points.
“When you concede a goal in the first half you have to make some adjustments to try and get yourself back in the game,” SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell said following the match. “They scored the second goal which was a disappointment to us, but the bottom line is every game is totally different and you have to play in the moment. You have to play those 90 minutes how they present themselves to you.”
The loss pushed San Antonio to tenth place in the USL Western Conference table, three points out of the top eight.
Offensive drought?
SAFC’s offensive woes are still plaguing the club. San Antonio has scored just two goals in a match one time in four of their last five matches. On the season thus far, San Antonio has been shutout five times.
