Panthers recall Dan Ellis, Brittain assigned to Rampage

Florida Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo left Wednesday’s game with an upper body injury and it looks like Florida is calling on their AHL affiliate for some help.

Panthers Executive General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Thursday the team has recalled goalie Dan Ellis from the San Antonio Rampage.

Ellis has a record of 83-76-0-17 with 14 shutouts during his National Hockey League career. He has appeared in 12 games with San Antonio this season, posting a record of 8-4-0, 2.13 GAA and a .918 save percentage.


In addition, Rampage General Manager Eric Joyce announced goaltender Sam Brittain has been recalled from the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones.

The 22-year-old has a 2-2-0 record through four games with Cincinnati this season with a 3.56 goals against average and a .854 save percentage.

The silver and black return to the ice tomorrow when they face-off with the Oklahoma City Barons at the AT&T Center at 7 p.m. for Teddy Bear Toss night.
