Defenseman Shane O’Brien has been reassigned to the San Antonio Rampage by the Florida Panthers, Florida General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Wednesday afternoon.

O’Brien has played in 19 games with the Silver and Black this season, scoring nine goals and tallying eight assists. The 31-year-old will not return to the ice despite being reassigned. He will miss both games against the Charlotte Checkers this weekend as he serves a two-game suspension for a charging incident on December 9.

The Rampage are 15-8-2-0 (32 points) on the season and will return to the ice tomorrow night when they take on the Charlotte Checkers at 6 p.m. inside Time Warner Cable Arena.
