Mikko Rantanen named to 2016 AHL All-Star roster

San Antonio Rampage forward Mikko Rantanen has been named to the 2016 AHL All-Star Classic roster, the American Hockey League announced on Thursday.

Rantanen led the Finland to the gold medal at the World Junior Championships this past week and leads the Rampage with 16 assists and tied for a team-high 26 points.

The rookie will rejoin the Silver and Black tomorrow when the team begins a four-game California road trip.


The 2016 AHL All-Star Classic will be on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. at War Memorial Arena in Syracuse, N.Y.
