
San Antonio Stars guard Kayla McBride had a stand out rookie season in the WNBA and on Thursday, she was recognized for her performance.
McBride was 2014 WNBA All-Rookie Team, the league announced this afternoon. The former Notre Dame guard was a unanimous selection to the squad and is the first Stars player to get the honor since Danielle Adams and Danielle Robinson in 2011.
Joining McBride on the All-Rookie Team is Chiney Ogwumike of the Connecticut Sun, Odyssey Sims of the Tulsa Shock, Bria Hartley of the Washington Mystics and Alyssa Thomas of the Sun.
McBride was selected third overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft and averaged 13.0 points with a .396 three-point field goal percentage in 34 regular season games for San Antonio. She led the Stars in scoring in the postseason, averaging 22.5 points in 30 minutes.
