Five-year old James Evans has signed a one-day honorary contract with the San Antonio Rampage, the team announced on Wednesday. He will skate out with the team during introductions prior to tonight’s game against the San Jose Barracuda.

Evans was hit with a puck during warmups prior to the Rampage game against the Texas Stars on Easter Sunday. He received staples in his head and rushed back to see the Silver and Black win 3-2 in overtime.

“We’re very impressed with James’ perseverance and fortitude. When I heard he got stitched up and came right back, I knew we could use him,” said Rampage coach Dean Chynoweth. “His courage and toughness will be a great addition to our locker room, and I’m confident he’ll fit right in.”
