Kayla McBride named injury replacement for All-Star Game

The San Antonio Stars will have two players in the All-Star Game for the first time in four years. Stars guard/forward Kayla McBride was named an injury replacement player for the 2015 All-Star Game, WNBA President Laurel Richie announced on Thursday morning.

McBride leads the Stars with 14.0 points per game and ranks 14th in the league in scoring. Overall, the former Notre Dame standout averages 14.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 28.4 minutes.

She will join Danielle Robinson on the Western Conference All-Star team, marking the first time two Stars players played in the game since Becky Hammon and Danielle Adams in 2011.


The 2015 WNBA All-Star Game will be played on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
