Hustle end Spurs six game losing streak

MEMPHIS – A weak first quarter by the Austin Spurs was critical to ending their winning streak, as they lost to the Memphis Hustle 109-105 on Tuesday night.

Despite seeing the six game streak come to an end, the Spurs have clinched the #1 overall seed in the Western Conference for the playoffs.

Jaron Blossomgame: 25 points, 10 rebounds
Derrick White: 23 points, four assists
Matt Costello: 16 points, seven rebounds, four blocks

Omari Johnson: 25 points, eight rebounds
Myke Henry: 21 points, five rebounds, four assists
Marquis Teague: 17 points, five rebounds, six assists

Hustle forward Omari Johnson nailed a turnaround jumper to give Memphis a 16-10 lead midway through the first quarter. The Spurs had no answer for that bucket until nearly four minutes later when Olivier Hanlan made a 3-pointer for Austin.

The Spurs eventually regained control and even led by nine points towards the end of the third quarter, but another scoring drought cost them the lead and the game, as Memphis won by four.
