Husso shuts out Sharks, Rampage win: Two Standout Players

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Rampage netminder Ville Husso earned his second shutout of the season as he led the silver and black to a 3-0 victory over the San Jose Barracuda at the AT&T Center on Thursday night.

The win was the third in their last six games for San Antonio. The Rampage took the early lead when Rocco Grimaldi scored up top just over a minute into the game. Klim Kostin and Samuel Blais would round out the scoring in the game.

Here is what went good and bad for the Rampage, as well as two standout players: Husso, Grimaldi, and Blais.

The Good:

  • The Rampage shutout their opponent for the third time this season, its tough for a team to beat you when they can’t score.
  • Ville Husso continues to play solid in net.
  • San Antonio had double digit shots in all three periods for the first time in weeks.

The Bad:

  • San Antonio played a solid 60 minute hockey game, I’ve got nothing.

Three Standout Players:

Rocco Grimaldi: The Rampage got a major boost from one of their best scorers on Thursday. Grimaldi scored the opening goal just over a minute into the game. The tally was his 13th of the season.

Grimaldi along with Greer and a solid goaltender like Ville Husso should prove to be a great year for the Rampage.

Ville Husso: The Rampage netminder has had a solid few games in net, but Thursday may have been one of his best of the season.

Husso stopped all 29 of the shots he faced for his second shutout of the season.
