It’s the last game of the season in the Convocation Center, and after losing just their second game of the season at home on Friday night, the UTSA Roadrunners (12-10, 8-7) are looking to cleanse their home court of the performance with a victory on Saturday afternoon.
A completely different game from both UTSA and the UAB Blazers (19-5, 11-4) compared to what transpired in game one, the Roadrunners had a scorching first half to take the lead into the locker rooms, 42-33.

After scoring just 12 points on Friday night, Jhivvan Jackson went on a tear for 14 points in the opening period today, including back-to-back three-pointers that were part of a Roadrunner 16-0 scoring run. In fact, the perimeter shot is falling much better for UTSA as a team, connecting on 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, to go with shooting 50% from the rest of the floor.
While the shooting is a noticeable difference, the greatest factor so far is the team’s decrease in turnovers. UTSA recorded four turnovers in the first couple of minutes on Friday when they quickly fell behind 10-0, but have committed just three turnovers through 20 minutes.

The Roadrunners’ troubles last night appear to have moved to the visitors’ locker room, where the Blazers have committed five turnovers, which contrasts from last night when they committed just 12 all game. The three-point shot is a much greater point of emphasis for UAB early in this one too, as they’ve shot 5-of-12 from the perimeter through the first period after taking just eight attempts from deep on Friday.
The Roadrunners are led in scoring by Jhivvan Jackson’s 14 points, and UAB has multiple players pacing the team with six. UTSA as a team has rebounded UAB 22-14.
