Greg Cochrane returning to San Antonio FC in 2018


San Antonio FC has re-signed defender Greg Cochrane for the 2018 USL season, the club announced on Tuesday afternoon.

After leading SAFC to a league-best defense in the 2017 campaign, Cochrane will return to anchor the defense again in the third year for San Antonio FC. The 27-year-old led the club in USL minutes with 2,782.

“We are really pleased that Greg re-signed for the third year,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell through a team press release. “He has been a model professional since arriving in San Antonio. He’s performed consistently at a high level in 2016 and 2017, and we look forward to him continuing to improve on those performances in 2018.”

The 2017 season saw SAFC lead the league in cleaning sheets, recording 15. Cochrane also tied the for the team lead with three assists.

Cochrane joins Diego Restrepo, Cesar Elizondo, Matt Cardone, and Ever Guzman in returning to the club for the 2018 USL season.
