The Trinity Tigers (1-0) will hit the road for the first time in the 2019 season when they travel to Abilene to take on the Hardin-Simmons Cowboys (1-0) tonight at Shelton Stadium.

Last time out

Trinity opened the 2019 season with a 41-10 win over McMurry Warhawks last weekend. Tigers quarterback Wyatt Messex finished the game by throwing for 250 yards and a career-high five touchdowns, completing 18 of 25 passes.

Scouting Hardin-Simmons

HSU is coming off a 64-0 win at Sul Ross State as they got the shutout and limited the Lobos to just 96 yards of total offense. The Cowboys have won four straight home openers.

Series history

Saturday will be the 33rd meeting all-time between the two schools. HSU has a record of 22-6-4 overall and has won four straight games in the series. Last season saw the Cowboys win 42-33 in San Antonio.
