San Antonio FC co-top scorer Franck Tayou is returning to the club in 2017, the team announced on Thursday.

“We are pleased to have Franck return with us for 2017,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell. “Franck arrived midseason and made an impact with our team immediately, while showing progress throughout the rest of the season. We look for him to continue to show progress and be a consistent player for us over the course of the 2017 season.”

Tayou was seen as the energy off the bench after joining the team midseason. He scored a team-leading five goals in 17 games with SAFC.

“I’m really thankful to have another opportunity to do what I love,” said Tayou. “I am looking forward to representing this great football club. I have a great relationship with the fans and I can’t wait to play in front of them for another season.”

San Antonio FC will return to the pitch for their second USL season in 2017.
