The San Antonio Commanders have announced ESPN San Antonio 1250 AM/94.5 FM KZDC as their official radio partner, the team announced on Monday.

“This is a great partnership with ESPNSA 1250 AM / 94.5 FM as it allows our fans to connect to our games no matter where they are,” said San Antonio Team President Vic Gregovits. “Securing a dedicated home for the Commanders on the airwaves was a key point for us and this partnership delivers on that goal.”

The Blitz co-host Jason Minnix will serve as the play-by-play voice of the Commanders with all regular season contests being broadcast with a pre-game and postgame show before and after each game.

Minnix has previously served as the play by play voice for the San Antonio Talons of the Arena Football League, Incarnate Word football in 2011 and UTSA basketball on radio and television.

“We believe The Alliance’s leadership and focus on exceptional football combined with its commitment to a personal and interactive relationship with its fans aligns perfectly with our mission to provide exceptional local quality content. This is going to be fun,” said ESPN San Antonio Program Director Rob Thompson.

The Commanders will open their inaugural season on February 9 at against the San Diego Fleet at 7 pm Central Time from the Alamodome.
