The injury bug bit San Antonio Stars guard Becky Hammon before the season and it has returned with an even bigger bite.
The Stars announced on Thursday afternoon, guard Davellyn Whyte suffered an ACL tear in her right knee during practice this week and will miss the rest of the 2014 season. Whyte will have surgery to repair the tear.

The second-year guard averaged 4.5 points, 1.8 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 14.9 minutes during her rookie season.
The Stars are currently 1-1 on the young season and will return to the court tomorrow when they face Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury at 9 pm. inside U.S. Airways Center.
