While the WNBA season is off for the winter, several players go overseas to continue their basketball careers and get paid in the process. However, in some cases injury occurs and that is the case for one of the San Antonio Stars.
Forward Danielle Adams injured her knee on December 13 that forced her to miss the rest of her season with Tango Bourges overseas. The 25-year-old had successful surgery on Tuesday, January 6 and will now go home to begin rehabilitation. Adams wrote in her blog about the injury.
I had a knee injury on Dec 13, 2014 that caused me to have a minor surgery on my patella bone. I’m out for 2 1/2 months in just enough time to prepare myself and get ready for my 5th WNBA season.
Adams is an restricted free agent this offseason and hopes to return to San Antonio, where she has spent her entire four-year career.
The Stars will open the 2015 season on June 5 against the defending champion Phoenix Mercury and host the Tulsa Shock in their home opener on June 14 at the Freeman Coliseum.
