San Antonio FC has re-signed goalkeeper Matt Cardone for the 2019 USL season, the team announced on Tuesday.
Cardone returns to SAFC for a fourth season after starting 13 USL matches this season, tallying a total of 1,170 minutes played and recording one shutout.
“We are really pleased Matt is going into his fourth year with us,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell in a statement. “He has played well in the games he has appeared in. He has a big year ahead of him where he will continue to compete for the starting spot and gain consistency game in and game out as he continues to improve.”
The 25-year-old posted a 1.38 goals against average, conceding 18 goals and recording 37 saves.
“I’m excited to be back for another year with San Antonio FC,” said Cardone. “I am looking forward to working with the coaches and my teammates towards a successful 2019 season.”
Cardone joins Pecka as returning members to the SAFC squad for 2019.
