Blues ink six players to two-way contracts

The St. Louis Blues have signed forwards Nick Lappin, Evan Polei, Michael Vecchione, and Nathan Walker as well as defensemen Derrick Pouliot and Jake Dotchin to two-way contracts.

Lappin split the 2018-19 season with the New Jersey Devils and Binghamton. The 26-year-old had five goals and three assists with New Jersey and 67 goals and 58 helpers with Binghamton.

Polei spent the 2018-19 season with the Bakersfield Condors. He tallied nine goals and 11 assists in the regular season and collected three points in 10 playoff games.


Vecchione played for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms during the 2018-19 season, tallying 15 goals and 23 assists in 67 games.

Walker split his time between the NHL’s Washington Capitals and Edmonton Oilers, tallying one goal and one assist. He also played with the AHL’s Hershey Bears and posted 140 points in 300 games.

Pouliot has spent the past two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL. posting 12 points (3g, 9a) in 62 games.

Dotchin spent last season with the Anaheim Ducks and posted one assist and a minus-4 rating in 20 games.

The Blues also agreed to AHL contracts with Cam Darcy, Zach Nastasiuk and J.J. Piccinic.

Darcy has played the last two seasons with the Utica Comets, where he scored ten goals and totaled 23 points in 68 games last season.

Nastasiuk split his time between Charlotte Checkers and the ECHL’s Florida Everblades last season. While with Charlotte, he had five goals and 11 points in 43 games.

Piccinich played in six games with the Toronto Marlies last season and had one assist.

The Rampage will return to the ice for the 2019-20 season in October.
