The UTSA Roadrunners entered their homecoming matchup at 6-0 while the Rice Owls have amassed a simple 2-3 record. The crowd inside the Alamodome has been treated to a first half of dominant football by the Roadrunners as the Runners head to the locker room with a 31-0 lead.
“Offense”ive
Frank Harris and his UTSA offense has just continued to improve all year long. Harris capped the first drive for the Runners with a 7 yard touchdown run after eating up 75 yards in just 9 plays. Hunter Duplessis added a 30 yard Field Goal and it looked like the Runners would have a 10 point lead when the 1st quarter ended. Harris finished the half completing 11 of 17 for 113 with 1 touchdown (to Joshua Cephus at the end of the half) and 45 yards on 4 carries with 1 touchdown.

Defensive Driving
UTSA has also dominated on the defensive side of the ball. Rice has only managed 53 yards on offense throughout the first half. Stand out moments by Trevor Harmanson include a huge sack early in the half and a 40 yard interception return for a touchdown.

Electric Atmosphere
UTSA fans packed the Dome with energy throughout the first half playing havoc with Rice on offense at times. The crowd even engaged during sideline games.
The energy inside the Alamodome is something else right now. Engagement during the onion-ring toss and everything. Wow. #BirdsUp🤙

One thing both Harris and Head Coach Jeff Traylor have joked about is the crowd quieting during Roadrunner possessions. The UTSA cheer squad brought signs to help the crowd remember when to settle down and let Harris work.
The cheer squad has quiet signs. This is fantastic. #OffenseAtWork #BirdsUp🤙 pic.twitter.com/pDUiuRE8Nh
