The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) athletics department announced on Tuesday they have expanded their partnership with CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System.
The commitment, which is the second for the 2018-19 school year, will provide UIW with the second largest commitment in program history.
“CHRISTUS Santa Rosa is about people,” said UIW Athletic Director Dr. Brian Wickstrom. “In my first interactions with CHRISTUS President and CEO Dean Alexander and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ken Davis, they talked about their commitment to the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System Court and it became obvious to me that our two organizations shared the same values and beliefs. When we asked for this support of our overall athletics program, they didn’t hesitate in saying yes. It’s definitely an exciting time to be a Cardinal.”
Currently, the commitment funded a new volleyball/basketball court named CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System Court, which is scheduled to be complete on June 15.
