Stars head coach and general manager Dan Hughes left Wednesday’s game against the Washington Mystics at the 4:24 mark of the second quarter after colliding with Stars guard Danielle Robinson on the sidelines. He remained on the court for several minutes before being taken off in a stretcher.
Hughes was taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. The 60-year-old suffered a lower back injury and will return home with the team on Thursday. He is expected to coach the Stars game against the Seattle Storm on Saturday night.
The Stars currently have a 6-16 record on the season.
