The Colorado Avalanche will have their top goaltender prospect back for another season. The team announced the signing of Calvin Pickard to a one-year contract on Thursday.
Pickard spent the majority of the 2014-15 season with the Lake Erie Monsters where he posted a record of 23-17-9 with a 2.61 GAA, .917 Sv% and three shutouts. He made his NHL debut with the Avalanche and played in 16 games with Colorado, posting a 6-7-3 record with a 2.35 goals-against average and .932 save percentage.
Prior to playing pro hockey, the 23-year-old spent four seasons with the Seattle Thunderbirds.
The San Antonio Rampage will open the 2015-16 season in October.
