There’s a new man in charge of San Antonio’s hockey club.
Eric Joyce has been named the General Manager of the San Antonio Rampage, Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Monday afternoon. Joyce’s role will see him control all hockey operations matters in the Alamo City.
“We are very proud to appoint Eric as our General Manager in San Antonio,” said Florida Panthers Owner & Chairman Vincent Viola. “He is a passionate and dedicated individual who played the game at West Point and has continued taking on increased responsibilities since he joined the Panthers organization. He will be responsible for establishing a consistent culture that prepares our young players for National Hockey League competition.”
The 36-year-old joined the Panthers before the beginning of the 2013-14 season and served as Assistant to the General Manager, which included various jobs such as planning the team’s rookie and training camps.
“Eric is a smart and hard-working individual who is the perfect fit to oversee our American Hockey League affiliate,” said Tallon. “He will play an important role ensuring that our prospects continue to grow and develop in a successful environment in San Antonio.”
The Rampage currently own a record of 5-2-0-0 (10 points) and are in first place in the West Division and third place in the Western Conference. The team will return to the ice tomorrow (Wednesday) night when they face the Adirondack Flames at 6 p.m.
