The Colorado Avalanche will have their top goaltender prospect back for another season. The team announced the signing of Calvin Pickard to a one-year contract on Thursday.

He made his NHL debut with the Avalanche and played in 16 games with Colorado, posting a 6-7-3 record with a 2.35 goals-against average and .932 save percentage.

Prior to playing pro hockey, the 23-year-old spent four seasons with the Seattle Thunderbirds.
