The Colorado Avalanche have recalled goaltender Spencer Martin from the San Antonio Rampage, the team announced on Friday afternoon.

Martin will be serving as a back up goaltender after Semyon Varlamov suffered a groin injury. This will be Martin’s third NHL call up of his career.

With the Rampage, Martin has posted a record of 11-7-0-0 record, .918 save percentage and 2.46 goals-against average through 19 games this season.

The Rampage will have the weekend off for the holidays before returning to the ice next Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center against the Texas Stars.
