Avalanche acquire Grimaldi in trade with Florida

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired forward Rocco Grimaldi from the Florida Panthers in exchange for goaltender Reto Berra, the team announced on Thursday.

Grimaldi was selected by the Florida Panthers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The 23-year-old split this time between the Panthers and AHL’s Portland Pirates. He tallied 16 goals and 17 assists in 52 games with Portland and had five points in 20 games with the Panthers.

Berra appeared in 16 games for the Rampage last season. He posted a 7-7 record with the Silver and Black with a 0.901 save percentage and a 3.39 goals against average.
